GRAND KNIGHT’S CORNER
Greetings Brother Knights, Council 6353 has had several successful activities. The golf tournament at Grandview Golf Club and the Christmas in July celebrations at both Pleasant Acres and Misericordia were both very positive experiences. As part of the Christmas in July celebrations the Knights presented over 50 gifts to the nursing home residents at both of these locations.
Election of officers took place in July. The list of officers is posted on the website. The installation of officers for 2013-2014 will be at the Sept. 17th general meeting.
Recruitment Sunday is Sept. 22nd at the 8:30 and 10:30 masses at St. Joseph Church. We will need your help to talk to candidates and to give out materials to potential candidates after these masses. We did well last year with recruitment. Twelve men joined our council and 5 new insurance members qualified us for the Star Council Award. Already this year we have one new member and several inquiries. Remember to carry a form 100 with you to give to a perspective member, especially to relatives and friends.
COAL tickets and football tickets will be available in August and Sept. We did well last year with these sales and received rebates for outstanding sales. Keep up the great work!
Mass for the Living and Deceased Knights will be held at the 8:30 mass on Nov. 17th. Please try to attend. Sept. is dedicated to the Seven Sorrows of Mary and Oct. is the Month of the Rosary. Remember to pray daily, including the rosary.
Thank you brother knights for participating in our functions and attending our meetings. Our council numbers are growing and attendance at our meetings is increasing. Peace be with you,
Paul Shellenberger, Grand Knight

Insurance for our Brother Knights and Family Members
The main purpose of our Knights' founder, Father Michael McGivney in 1882, was to provide for the families who lost the male breadwinner. Since that time the Knights have become one of the largest and most successful providers for families in need. Both the insurance and financial products that are offered provide this financial security.
