Greeting Brother Knights,
Let me welcome you to a new fraternal year. I want to start by expressing my thanks for your support in electing me as your Grand Knight for the 2014-2015 fraternal year. I look forward to working with you to make this an outstanding year for our Council. I also want to extend my appreciation to our immediate Past Grand Knight, Paul Shellenberger, and all of the officers from 2013-2014, for their steadfast work and endless energy to deliver services to our St. Joseph Parish and community.
The start of the new year is a time to reflect on what we have accomplished this past year, but more important by what we hope to achieve in the future. As I have thought about what our Council has done and where we are going, it is clear the strength of our organization, the spirit that keeps us together, is that we are a Fraternity of Service. As we go forward this year, I want us to focus on what being a Fraternity of Service means and how we can strengthen this spirit.
As a Knight and member of Council #6353, we have a responsibility to be an
active part of the Council activities. What is this spirit that brings us
together? The first part of this spirit that unifies us as Brothers Knights is
that we are a fraternity, a unified Catholic band of brothers who come together
to provide the spiritual, personal and social support for one another. In this
fraternal year, we should continue to strive to bring in new members, but also
to develop the opportunities that will encourage our existing members to be an
active part of our organization.
Can't leave you without saying something about 2014 Retreat at Malvern Retreat House St. Joseph's in the Hills. Please, Please start planning today to join your Brother Knights for 2015 Mid May. Our sincere thank you to Lou Cedrone and Joe Spangler for their efforts making our weekend spiritual and blessed. What can I say, you only must attend one year and you are booked for life.
New Officers August 19th
God Bless Us All,
The first of our principles is Charity: Our Catholic faith teaches us to “
Love thy neighbor as thyself “. Members of the Knights of Columbus show love by
conducting food drives and donating the food to local soup kitchens and food
pantries, by volunteering at Special Olympics, and by supporting , both
spiritually and mentally, mothers who chose life for their babies. Knights
recognize that our mission , and our faith in God compel us to action. There is
no better way to experience love and compassion than to help those in need , a
call we answer every day. These are just a few examples of how we give to our
church and community. ***** This is our first principal. How are we living it??

Insurance for our Brother Knights and Family Members
The main purpose of our Knights' founder, Father Michael McGivney in 1882, was to provide for the families who lost the male breadwinner. Since that time the Knights have become one of the largest and most successful providers for families in need. Both the insurance and financial products that are offered provide this financial security.
